Lions are men and women dedicated to serving those in need, in our own community, and around the world. The 1.35 million members in more than 46,000 clubs in over 207 countries are different in many ways, but share a core belief – community is what we make it. In addition to humanitarian service, Lions enjoy fellowship and develop leadership skills.
To be the global leader in community and humanitarian service.
To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs.
Lions International Purposes:
The Gallup Lions Club has served this area for 75 years! Each year we support a wide variety of youth organizations, teams, events and individual students with monetary gifts. For many years we have provided eye glasses for kids to make it easier for them to succeed in school. We supply hundreds of "Back Packs" of food in cooperation with the Community Pantry so kids are not hungry. These are just a few of the ways we support our area with small donations.
The Gallup Lions donated our clubhouse to help start the UNM-Gallup Campus. We donated the first two Dialysis Machines in McKinley County to RMCH. Donated the scoreboards at the Sports Complex. Built shade structures for senior citizens centers. Helped build the Veterans Plots at Hillcrest Cemetary. These along with dozens of other large projects have been accomplished in this community because of the Gallup Lions!
None of the above would be possible without the outstanding support we get from our local citizens and businesses. Your support of our various fund raisers whether it is our fantastic Rodeo, our Flag Program, our Bowling/Golf tournaments, raffles, or purchasing our Bar-B-Que allow this to happen. Thank You!
